The Original Cast Recording of Broadway’s Kinky Boots Sets May Release Date

Now here’s something to say yeah about: The original cast recording of Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein’s Kinky Boots will be released on iTunes and in stores on May 28. Featuring Broadway video blogger Billy Porter, Tony nominee Stark Sands and Annaleigh Ashford, the Kinky Boots album will be released through the Masterworks Broadway label.

Based off of the 2005 film of the same name and inspired by a true story, the musical follows Charlie Price (Sands), who inherits his father’s struggling shoe factory and finds unlikely inspiration from Lola (Porter), an entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos. As the two work together to save the factory, this pair finds they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible.

Directed by Jerry Mitchell, Kinky Boots plays at Broadway’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre.
